Finding solid ground on menopause

Most women arrive at this stage of life uninformed and unprepared, with a wait-and-see attitude. They find themselves surrounded by conflicting information and opinions. The decisions a woman makes in menopause affect her symptoms and health today, as well as her future health. These decisions deserve to be based on facts and solid information.

This platform exists to give you exactly that — clear information and practical guidance.

My name is Wilga Stappers. I am a women's health advocate and independent researcher, based in Dublin, with specialist expertise in menopause, hormonal health and healthy aging for women. I was born in the Netherlands and have lived and worked in different countries and cultures, in Europe, the Far East and the Middle East. This has made me an inquisitive thinker who finds it essential to understand matters thoroughly.

I came to this work through my own midlife journey. I was uninformed and unprepared, like most women, for what was happening in my body, and looking for real information in a field full of conflicting narratives. What started as a personal search for accurate, evidence-based information became years of serious, dedicated study, seeking out leading specialists in the field and following the science. This study is ongoing, as the field continues to evolve. I hold a Master of Laws, and that training shapes how I work: I am a thorough researcher, I navigate complex material and approach evidence with a critical mind. A qualified yoga teacher, I bring an integrative approach to this work. I find this work genuinely compelling. The more I learn, the more I understand that this information makes a real difference to how women experience and navigate menopause, and their long-term health.

I am not a medical professional, and that is part of the value. I bring no institutional constraints, no vested interests — I bring independent, evidence-based information and guidance.
